Michele’s comment: I used to depend a lot on body language, but I've had to try and get as much as I can from facial expressions and tone of voice. Michele

On WhatsApp, my students communicate constantly about community resources, questions about homework, anything and everything--we've been communicating with WhatsApp even since well before the pandemic.

For the past couple of weeks I have realized I am talking a LOT during our google meets meetings. It is a lot and I don’t think they were getting what I was doing. I am now working on posing questions, and waiting. I am also not talking as much I am listening more. I am listening for frustration noises, ex, sigh. I am also listening to hear my name, that was always a sign when they didn’t understand something.

Amy, I try to use the chat box a lot. Even if it is for yes and no questions. it let's you know who is listening and encourages more participation.
