Wow, this is amazing!!

44:34
This is a great presentation!

44:49
I see this as a great tool (such as the workspace) for helping focus and coordinate professional development around the strategies you want instructors to focus upon :)

44:50
We are always updating our tools and resources! Please reach out to learn more and/or share information with us!

45:07
Can you walk through how a teacher might come to this site and then take info to support their instruction?

45:11
I have one-

45:28
Thanks Jen! My question! :)

45:39
Mine too !

45:50
Is there a tool to assess learners to find these factors that they Identify?

46:46
What is disciplinary learning?

47:56
We like to consider the the whole person. Working with students to self-identify factors they see as impacting their learning is a great way to get to know students and co-identify strategies.

48:17
Very interesting and useful

49:17
Thnak you!

51:08
Can you explain more about the My Workspace part of the site? Do you have 1 workspace or do you see others' workspaces?

51:39
I love the potential for this tool to support bridging the research to practice divide.

Yes! It is a great place to start to explore research on adult learning.

52:42
Are any of the references behind pay walls?

52:52
Or have you found a way to get public access?

53:13
Is the teacher you are working with in San Mateo teaching literacy level learners (beginning ESL)

53:20
We link to Google scholar - in many cases they have found free PDFs but some research is behind pay walls

53:21
Thank you Medha.

53:23
@Jen - Yes this is an amazing amount of research based info made available for practitioners. Great work.

53:44
Thanks, Medha.

01:05:27
What Valentine’s Day- I only found 1 I liked! Christine Muller

01:05:47
I feel doing math has been the most challenging IF learners don't have either book, printer or device with larger screen- at the minimum.

01:06:03
Liz Kolb also uses the LVN in her Triple E work: https://edprepmatters.net/2020/06/triple-e-framework-and-learner-variability-project-implementing-research-informed-technology-integration-in-teaching-and-learning-face-to-face-or-remotely/

01:06:16
Absolutely! I used to teach my students and student interns to write and send a professional email from their phones.

01:06:25
@Medha - thanks for making that connection

01:07:53
Will the Extensive and Intensive Close Reading be included in the slides? Christine Muller

01:08:31
This book she showed is from the Literacy Library from Bow Valley College....a great ESL resource!!!

01:08:53
Jayme - Sherry asked about teaching math remotely — challenging for students

01:09:02
What was the platform that allowed students to select a book?

01:09:03
Is there anything in your tables that covers math?

01:09:26
Would love to help with the crowdsourcing. how can we get involved?

01:12:24
My practice is asynchronous only. Suggestions?

01:12:34
Virtual learning in math makes it easy to watch videos together on Khan Academy and similar to give the student a chance to hear an additional/different explanation of a concept and then talk through it. Often helps when a teacher and student get stuck.

01:14:07
I love these

01:14:31
Your graphics are amazing!

01:14:33
I really like this slide of a "classroom". Is that something we can go on to explore and share with other teachers as an example?

Fantastic idea!

01:16:02
It’s such a helpful guide!

01:16:04
Humble, relevant and so helpful

01:16:10
What’s most important is the learning.

01:16:27
I love that perspective of understanding how learners experience on the phone.

01:16:50
Great Share most needed;)

01:16:51
This is great. I think I'll weave this into my program's weekly instructor chats!

01:17:06
Thank you.

01:17:19
80% of our learners use their phones, so this is great info!

01:18:05
No image again!

01:18:38
If learners have choice of laptop and phone which one will be better for active learning

01:19:16
I fully agree

01:19:20
yes

01:19:21
If they get training on how to use a laptop then yes

01:19:30
We can't see anyone

01:19:49
Thank you, Jayme. So helpful!

01:19:56
Thank you for the presentations!

01:20:37
Thank you, Digital Promise, also! Looking forward to exploring more.

01:20:52
If we want to save the chat, should we do that before going to breakout rooms?

01:21:45
Denise, yes, you'll want to save it before they close this room.

01:21:56
Thank you!

01:22:35
Thanks Sherry and Xavier for sharing your work here!

01:22:52
this is great! I made a "screencast" of myself downloading Flipgrid to my phone. I then hit a bump that the video created by Screencast was too large - difficult to send out. So, if you can recommend the best app to record steps on your phone that would be great.

01:23:06
What a great idea! I know there are so many things that I want to use but don't know how to use them.

01:23:20
This will be so useful!

Does this tech strategy toolkit exist yet?

01:23:51
We’re building it now

01:23:57
Nice!

01:24:06
it exists as a prototype in Glide.

01:24:10
We are gathering videos

01:24:20
and then will do the “for real” build

01:24:26
Prototype looks great

01:24:43
This will be a huge benefit for practitioners!!
